GPX enhancing carrier-neutral portfolio with Mumbai 2 facility

GPX Global Systems has today announced the expansion of its presence in Mumbai with the addition of its Tier 4 16MW GPX Mumbai 2 facility.

gpx logoGPX Mumbai 2, which will be available late Q1 2019, will add 60,000 sq ft to the portfolio of the provider of carrier-neutral colocation data centre services in the MENA and South Asia regions.

The news comes after GPX partnered with Indian data centre and carrier neutral private internet exchange (IX) operator Extreme IX, which saw Extreme IX serve as an independent and neutral peering platform from GPX’s Mumbai Tier 4 carrier neutral facility. The partnership means content providers and eyeball networks connected to the exchange will be able to exchange internet traffic while benefitting from reduced latency and costs, GPX claims.

GPX, which opened its first Mumbai data centre in 2012, has 12 carriers, 85+ ISPs, leading global CDNs, cloud, and content providers within its GPX Mumbai 1 data centre creating the richest internet ecosystem and interconnect data centre in India. 

GPX Mumbai 2 will be a next-generation Tier 4 certified standalone 60,000 sq ft facility with 16MW of power. Support for high density applications, 52U cabinets, rich interconnectivity, and power system efficiency will be an integral part of the data centre. GPX Mumbai 1 and GPX Mumbai 2 will be interconnected with campus like networking and latency.
