Exclusive: Jhamb to leave Vodafone Carrier Services, McGrath named as replacement

Vodafone’s senior vice president and global head of connectivity business Vivek Jhamb is to leave the UK-based operator, Capacity can exclusively reveal.

Jhamb, who first joined Vodafone in 2005, will be replaced by Vodafone Carrier Services SVP of commercial Andrew McGrath, a spokesperson for Vodafone confirmed.

Jhamb has held various roles within Vodafone, including a five-year stint as CEO of its carrier and wholesale business in India, a stretch as interim CEO of its carrier services division, and two years as SVP for northern Europe and Americas at Vodafone Carrier Services.

Prior to Vodafone, he held positions at Cisco Systems, iBeam Broadcasting, and Tejas Networks. Capacity contacted Jhamb to find out why he is leaving, but had received no response.

McGrath, who joined Vodafone in 2013 according to his LinkedIn profile, will take the reins from Jhamb when he leaves the firm.

McGrath joined Vodafone from British Gas Business, where he was interim strategy director and programme director. Prior to this, he spent almost seven years as an executive director of marketing and strategy at Virgin Media. He has also held positions at Verizon Enterprise Solutions, Cable & Wireless, and Oracle.
