CenturyLink announces two new leadership appointments

CenturyLink has continued to overhaul its management team by appointing two new senior executives, with both set to report to chief operating officer Jeff Storey.

The US company, who recently completed its merger with Level 3 Communications, has named former Dell EMC executive Gauvra Chand as EVP of marketing, whilst former Level 3 SVP of IP and real time communications Shaun Andrews has been named EVP of product management.

Andrews brings nearly 25 years of experience in the telecommunications, having worked for Level 3 in a variety of roles since 2012. He also had a previous stint at the company, from 2006 until 2010, when he joined Intelepeer as general manager.

Andrews has also held senior positions in product development, product management, sales and business development at WilTel and SBC Communications. His new role will see him focus on the company’s go-to-market strategy, pricing, product management, and product marketing.

Chand previously served as the global senior vice president, marketing – infrastructure solutions group for Dell EMC, where he worked from the year 2000. His new role will see him tasked with leading CenturyLink’s marketing strategy and communications, and brand and customer experience.

He also will be responsible for the development of the company's digital transformation strategy, driving the company's digital interaction with customers, including buying services, obtaining support and using automated services for provisioning.

"Both of these executives bring a tremendous amount of experience to their roles and they will be instrumental in developing the strategy for and marketing of the right products and services to meet the needs of our customers in the fast-evolving communications marketplace," Storey said.

"We are the perfect partner to assist our customers with their own digital transformation efforts, given our unparalleled network, our extensive product and service offerings and our tremendous employee expertise."

The latest appointments comes after a busy 2017 for CenturyLink, which completed its $34 billion acquisition of Level 3 in November after a slight delay. The acquisition led to an overhaul of CenturyLink’s senior team, which included the appointment of former Level 3 CEO Storey as chief operating officer.
