vXchnge buys data centre campus in Austin

vXchnge, the data centre solutions provider, has announced that it has acquired a 100,000 sqft data centre in Austin, Texas.

The facility, which includes the purchase of the surrounding 18 acre campus, has the capacity to grow to 26MW of power. The doubling of its capacity is to meet the growing demand and gives vXchnge the ability to meet future customer growth.

Speaking on the new site, Keith Olsen, chief executive officer at vXchnge, said: “Austin is a hyper-growth market for vXchnge. The demand continues for vXchnge from existing and new customers who are deploying new applications and compute technologies at the edge. The projected forecasts for the Austin marketplace are robust, and vXchnge continues to invest in capacities and capabilities to support the demand from hyper-scale and IoT deployments.”

As with all the other vXchnge data centres, the new Austin facility will provide its customers with high-performance infrastructure, security and technical resources on-site 24x7x365. The site also offers a robust carrier and interconnection exchange for hybrid-cloud deployments.

Additionally, vXchnge offers a number of data centre services that adhere to strict levels of security protocols. vXchnge is certified with all relevant compliance protocols, including the Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA), and PCI DS, and is SSAE 18 Type 2, ISO 27001, and is also AICPA SOC certified.

Back in 2016, Level 3 Communications extended its connectivity into two vXchnge data centres in Philadelphia and St. Louis. In total Level 3 has its footprint and capabilities in thirteen vXchnge data centres.
