Nominet names Whitburn as SVP for cyber security

Nominet has named Simon Whitburn as its new senior vice president for cyber security services as it looks to expand its presence in the sector on a global level.

Whitburn will be tasked with leading the sales strategy of Nominet’s Cybersecurity Services Team, which monitors, analyses and supports responses to security incidents across client networks.

Before joining Nominet, Whitburn was sales director at Cognosec Europe, where he successfully established a new security solution and managed service VAR in in key European markets.

Previously, he was vice president of international markets at Fidelis Cybersecurity, where Whitburn took a new spin-off company from AccessData, Resolution1 Security, through to acquisition and integration, expanding its market share. Before that, he was executive vice president at AccessData for many years.

Nominet’s DNS Cybersecurity Services team monitors, analyses and supports responses to security incidents across client networks as part of its overall security solution. The service incorporates Nominet’s purpose-built DNS analytics turing platform, which monitors and ingests up to one million security and network events per second to support its threat mitigation.
