Colt launches on demand SDN services in Japan

Colt Technology Services has today announced the launch of its SDN-based on demand services in Japan.

The introduction of the On Demand portfolio marks the latest development in Colt’s heightened activity in Asia. Since January of this year, the company has unveiled several large-scale expansion projects in the APAC region, for example introducing faster network connectivity to two of the company’s key low-latency routes in the APAC region.

“This past January, we announced a massive three-year investment plan in Asia. Since then, we’ve expanded our presence with Metro Area Networks in Singapore, Hong Kong, and now Nagoya,” said Kenji Hioki, president and regional executive of Asia at Colt Technology Services.

“On top of that, we’ve launched On Demand Services in Japan. We continue to provide connectivity infrastructure that the market demands with the speed, security, and reliability today’s enterprises need.”

Continuing the company’s extensive investment and expansion efforts in Asia, the launch coincides with the debut of Colt's 50th metro area network (MAN) in Nagoya, comprising of both the latest in optical and Ethernet-based architecture, and providing availability to the city’s key commercial districts.

Including Nagoya, the Colt IQ Network now boasts on-net routes with true end-to-end connectivity across 28 countries and over 200 cities across the world, including Tokyo, Sydney, Busan, Chicago, New York, London, Frankfurt, Paris, and others.

With Colt on demand services, enterprises will have the ability to create and modify connections and bandwidth in near real-time through the 100Gbps-capable Colt IQ Network customer portal.
