Wilcon names Lehman as channel sales director

Wilcon, the West Coast US provider of fibre and data centre infrastructure, has named Rex Lehman as its new channel sales director.

In his new role Lehman will be tasked with leading the channel division and developing channel programmes to deliver customers with successful solutions. Specifically he will be responsible for all Wilcon’s indirect channel activities like communications, pricing, strategy, program design and divisional growth.

We look forward to working closely with all of our partners to enable them to build strong end-user customer relationships and optimal solutions for their customers,” said Lehman. 

With over 15 years of experience in the telecoms industry Lehman brings a wealth of knowledge to the role including technical experience in the design and delivering of optical solutions for customers, in the areas of storage, cloud, business continuity and consulting services.

Before joining Wilcon, Lehman served as west region sales manager for Spectrum Enterprise, where he recorded a 100% quota attainment for six consecutive years. Prior to that Lehman worked as a technical sales consultant for AT&T. 

AT&T was ranked as number one the on Vertical Systems Group’s table for wholesale and retail fibre providers to buildings in 2016, Spectrum Enterprise was ranked as third and Wilcon was named in the market players tier but no official position was assigned.

Wilcon’s channel programme enables agents to design customised infrastructure solutions using both dark fibre and lit services. They receive customised support and technical assistance as well as tools to help them identify the best opportunities on the network and in addition other services available include Ethernet, optical wavelength, interconnection, dedicated internet access, colocation, and cloud access. In only May of this year the company expanded its service offerings with the launch of Rapid Connect, which provides carriers, service providers and cloud startups with a quick and cost effective way to establish network infrastructure in as little as ten working days. 

Wilcon was acquired by US infrastructure company Crown Castle in July this year. The $600 million deal saw Crown Castle gain 1,900 route miles of fibre in California, increasing its fibre footprint to 28,000 route miles.
