Evolink and Link11 join DirectCLOUD as CSPs

DE-CIX announces Evolink and Link11 as the latest additions to its list of cloud service providers (CSPs) made accessible through its DirectCLOUD system.

DirectCLOUD enables internet service providers (ISPs) to connect their end customers directly to CSPs, via its system which bypassed the internet. It can also be used to connect to other ISPs in order to use their services.

Evolink and Link11 join other CSPs such as: Amazon Web Services, Centron, cloudKleyer, CloudSigma, Corebackbone, Microsoft Azure and Myra, to name a few.

Link11, the European IT security vendor, operates a cloud-based DDoS protection platform while Evolink, the Bulgarian telecommunications and IT services company, offers a cloud platform based on VMware, HP and Cisco Systems solutions.

"It is great to see how our DirectCLOUD service is developing. Evolink's data centre and their cloud platform are based in Sofia, and they now connect their platform to Frankfurt. It shows how the cloud business is evolving on a multinational basis with Frankfurt as a central hub to interconnect the different players. The variety of the services already available via DirectCLOUD is impressive. With Link11, an additional DDoS protection service is available; a service that is becoming increasingly important in times of ever-increasing DDoS attacks, and it complements DE-CIX's existing blackholing service," said Harald Kriener, manager of business development DirectCLOUD at DE-CIX.

SSE Enterprise Telecoms recently announced their offering in the same space, across its UK footprint. Many firms In the connectivity and co-location business, are following the market trend into hybrid cloud solutions.
