Retelit names Roberto Leoni as group operations director

Italy’s Retelit has appointed Roberto Leoni as the new group operations director.

Roberto-Leoni

Leoni, who started his role yesterday on 1 August 2017, will report directly into Enrico Mondo, group COO. He will be in charge of the following units: network & technologies, site operations & customer service, infrastructure, planning & maintenance and field operations.

“With the appointment of Roberto Leoni, Retelit gains comprehensive telecommunications experience. Leoni, who I have collaborated with over a number of years, is the perfect choice to continue to strengthen one of the company’s key areas,” said Federico Protto, Retelit chief executive officer.

Leoni began his career in 1991 at Telecom Italia, before joining MCI Worldcom (now Verizon Business). He moved to T-Systems Italia (Deutsche Telecom Group) in 2003 and significantly contributed to creating the telecommunications business unit and the international project management unit, managing it until 2017.

“I am delighted to lead Retelit’s operations,” stated Leoni. “My goal is to carry forward the high strategic content group strategy which drives the company’s success through focus and control over all group infrastructural operations and the delivery of services across all customer segments - both wholesale and business, and domestic and international."

Retelit added that this further investment in a central company division ensures the ongoing provision to clients of unmatchable technical and architectural services - in addition to delivery and support.
