Stockholm Internet eXchange (STHIX) has chosen Coriant’s Groove G30 Network Disaggregation platform to enhance its metro network to support the rapidly growing traffic demands of its end-user ISP customers and over 100 connected networks.
The Coriant Groove G30 metro deployment for STHIX utilises 200G coherent optical transmission and supports a broad range of end-user services, including 100G client-side services that can be deployed quickly, easily, and cost-efficiently.
“We operate in a fast paced and dynamic environment, and we were looking for a future-proof solution with the ability to easily adapt and turn up member services quickly,” said Rasmus Åberg, chief executive officer, STHIX.
“The Coriant Groove G30 solution proved a perfect fit for our needs with its compelling modular design, cost-effective scalability, and a level of operational simplicity that enabled us to accelerate high-speed service deployment faster than I’ve ever experienced.”
It enables STHIX to enhance its peering platform, which is currently distributed over Stockholm’s six major data centres and Gothenburg's main data centre, and which will be extended to main data centres in Copenhagen following a planned launch this summer.
Richard Fellner, managing director of Europe at Coriant, added. “Internet Exchanges like STHIX play a critical role in the global internet ecosystem – and this will only increase over time as they brace for a new generation of dynamic, high-bandwidth applications like IoT and 5G. We are pleased to be working closely with STHIX as they evolve their metro network to meet a new set of challenges with our purpose-built Groove solution.”
