Exponential-e appoints Henry Pepperall to CFO

In an appointment Exponential-e says “heralds ambitious growth plans”, experienced financial executive Henry Pepperall has been named as its new chief financial officer.

Speaking on his new role at the British cloud and network provider, Pepperall commented: “I am very excited to be joining Exponential-e. Lee Wade and the team have done a fantastic job building the business to become one of the most financially sound in its sector. Exponential-e has achieved exceptional growth, delivering 40% EBITDA CAGR over the last 3 years. I’m joining at a pivotal time, as the business now starts to plan its next phase of growth. I look forward to shaping the future for our customers and employees alike."

Reporting to CEO Lee Wade, Pepperall enters the role with over 23 years’ experience leading financial operations at a number of different organisations including Vauxhall Motors, Electrolux.

His most recent role was as financial director at Kelway, the technology re-seller. For them, he oversaw acquisitions and a management buyout before managing the completion of the CDW acquisition of Kelway in 2015.

The new appointment marks a wave of new strategic hires this year, as the company expands its leadership team. Beginning with Jazz Sandhu who was named as marketing director, re-joining the team having previously served as head of marketing for two years.

Commenting on the recent appointments, Wade said: "Henry brings a wealth of senior leadership experience in managing complex financial operations in changing climates. His expertise will be invaluable as we deliver on our ambitious growth plans over the coming years. I’m also delighted to welcome back Jazz to the organisation. She will be leading the strategic approach to reaching our markets and overseeing the digital transformation of our marketing operations."

Back in March, Wade commented on the UK Budget plans and stressed that more needs to be done to address concerns around the UK's network infrastructure. He said at the time: "Yes, we have seen £200 million has been set aside to help deliver broadband across the country, but more still needs to be done. The government shouldn't be applauded for solving the country's broadband crisis just yet. There is still a long way to go to sort out the perilous state of our digital infrastructure. The inability to constantly modernise Britain's network infrastructure is not just a matter of being bottom of the broadband leagues. It's also a major bottleneck to the progress of business and our increasingly digital economy."

In November 2016, the cloud provider and carrier Exponential-e launched its software-defined wide-area network (SD-WAN) service to enterprises.
