CenturyLink's cloud service picked by OpenSystems to power security services

CenturyLink has been selected by OpenSystems to offer security services in the cloud.

Joining CenturyLink’s global channel partnership programme as an ecosystem partner OpenSystems supports its customers offering Mission Control security services. 

“The cloud will be an important part of the future for global enterprises. While many of our customers want the flexibility of the cloud, they are unsure of what steps to take, especially in industries where connectivity, uptime and system security are of paramount importance,” said Stefan Lampart, senior VP customer management at Open Systems.

International engineering and manufacturing firm Sulzer has been names as the first customer to use the CenturyLink Cloud powered service from OpenSystems.

“Sulzer, as one of the most innovative companies in Europe, identified the cloud as the next chapter for their business and wanted our Mission Control security services to be supported by the CenturyLink Cloud platform,” added Lampart.

“Our digital transformation project was pivotal to Sulzer’s long term strategy, so we wanted to work with partners who were able to realise our long-term vision. This programme not only increased the operational efficiency of our global IT infrastructure but also reduced costs,” explains Urs Schmied, head of IT Infrastructure at Sulzer.

The CenturyLink infrastructure has the capabilities to support hosting, cloud environments enabling transformation projects with seamless hybrid IT integration and management. Offering the flexibility to manage their IT environment and adapt to growing business needs.

Speaking on the collaboration with OpenSystems Matt Leonard the director of EMEA sales engineering and digital transformation at CenturyLink, said: “We were delighted to work with Open Systems, taking their managed secure gateway into the public cloud. The capability to deploy a secure appliance rapidly and in a scalable fashion via the cloud is tremendously powerful and one which supports organisations as they work with other on and off-premise services, ensuring strong application and data security.”
