Juniper Networks announces new leadership for EMEA business

Juniper Networks has today announced the appointment of Marcus Jewell as senior vice president and general manager for its Europe, Middle East and Africa business.

Jewell joins Juniper from Brocade Communications, where he most recently ran the EMEA business and was also the global head of the company’s software sales. In his new role, he will be responsible for Juniper’s sales operations across the region, including its go-to-market and channel strategies.

“Juniper is a company I have admired for its integrity and quality of technology for many years,” said Jewell. “I believe the current opportunity for growth in EMEA is very strong for the company, given the fundamental importance of innovative, high-performance and secure networking that underpins the drive for digital transformation among enterprises, cloud and service providers alike. I am very excited to be leading the team forward and expect us to achieve great things together."

Jewell has worked in the technology industry for more than 20 years, and has held several senior sales leadership positions in networking organisations. Prior to Brocade Communications, he spent five years at Mitel as enterprise sales director.

He will be based at Juniper’s EMEA headquarters in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, which hosts the company’s regional executive briefing center, proof-of-concept laboratory, technical support operations and an OpenLab testing, collaboration and innovation facility for customers and partners (one of seven globally).

The news comes a day after Juniper Networks announced that it had made enhancements to its software-defined networks (SDNs) platform to deliver pervasive security across multi-vendor environments, public clouds and private clouds.
