Carrier-neutral CityFibre appoints executive to head wholesale relationships

CityFibre, the UK’s alternative wholesale provider, is stepping up its efforts to win customers by appointing a head of relationships with the carrier community.

Former Colt and Telstra executive Jatinder Sispal will be head of carrier and national providers at the company, which is building carrier-neutral fibre networks in a number of UK cities.

Rob Hamlin, commercial director at CityFibre, said: “Jatinder brings decades of invaluable experience to his new role at CityFibre and is fully aligned with our vision to transform the UK’s digital infrastructure.”

Sispal was head of BT Local Business immediately before the joined CityFibre, responsible for the enterprise division serving around 700,000 customers a year and driving annual revenues of £400 million.

At Telstra he was responsible for building the wholesale division from start-up, and at Colt he led the UK wholesale and northern European indirect sales and marketing divisions.

CityFibre has metro duct and fibre footprints in 42 cities across the UK and a national long distance network that connects these cities to data centres in the UK and to key peering points in London.
