Lightower Fiber Networks expands in Detroit

Lightower Fiber Networks has expanded its facilities in the US. The company is opening a new facility in Troy, Detroit to support its network of over 1,200 miles of fibre.

Detroit Metro is home to more than 300,000 businesses and presently experiencing a revitalisation through technology. Lightower’s further investment and expansion in the region emphasises its commitment to bringing all-fibre solutions to the areas that demand high-performance networking.

Doug Dalissandro, chief revenue officer for Lightower Fiber Networks said: “Lightower has been serving Michigan and greater Detroit for many years. We have a lot of fibre in place to provide services to businesses today, and we plan to aggressively add more network and service locations moving forward.

Dalissandro said: “This latest investment in Michigan by Lightower is simply a result of the overall demand we are seeing from companies here that need high-performance networking infrastructure. Greater Detroit is quickly becoming a technology-centric market where fibre networking is being used to accelerate the operations of old and new industries alike. We are excited to be a part of this continued growth.”

Lightower provides customised, high-performance networking, with services including Ethernet, wavelengths, dedicated Internet access and managed private optical networks.

With over 33,000 fibre route miles, Lightower provides connectivity to over 22,000 service locations across 17 states, including 275 data centres and 500 plus telco hotels and over 100 on-net buildings throughout the region.
