Console Connect announces Microsoft Azure ExpressRoute integration

Console Connect has today announced its integration with Microsoft Azure ExpressRoute in seven new locations.

The integration enables Microsoft customers to establish private, secure and reliable connections, with a single click, between 170 Console points of presence (PoPs) worldwide and the Microsoft Cloud via the Console platform.

Currently, the integration enables secure interconnections to be set up between any Console node, and Azure ExpressRoute locations in Silicon Valley, CA; Los Angeles, CA; Ashburn, VA; Chicago, IL; Dallas, TX; Toronto, Canada; and London, UK.

“Integrating the Console Platform with Microsoft Azure ExpressRoute brings simple, single-click interconnection to Azure customers around the world,” said Jef Graham, CEO of Console Connect. “As CIOs look to secure their cloud environments, the networks on which they connect to the cloud are coming under increasing scrutiny. Opening up more opportunities for secure, predictable direct connections will help ensure safer cloud deployments as adoption continues to rise.”

Traditional interconnection solutions required extensive investment of time, capital and network engineering for each direct connection to be established, “making it an unrealistic alternative to the increasingly dangerous public internet,” said a Console statement. “But, by automating the interconnection process through to Layer 3, Console Connect has opened the door for IT teams to embrace the technology and end their reliance on the public internet for business-critical applications.”

The Console platformdelivers cloud connectivity through a unique blend of software and network infrastructure. Console Connect is the first company to fully automate switching and routing for seamless interconnection, avoiding the risks of sending traffic over the public Internet.

The news comes after Console Connect announced earlier this month that it struck a partnership with Omantel to provide interconnection services in the Middle East.
