Telehouse's NYIIX daily traffic tops 400Gbps

Traffic passing through TELEHOUSE's New York International Internet Exchange (NYIIX) surpassed 400Gbps a day for the first time last month.

NYIIX, which launched in 1996, currently has 158 members and seven peering locations. It has seen steady traffic growth this year, according to TELEHOUSE.

It is one of 48 data centres operated worldwide, offering scalable peering infrastructure and colocation services.

“In addition to seeing the exponential growth in peering, we’re also observing an increase from our customers requesting alternatives in connectivity, including the public cloud,” says Akio Sugeno, vice president, Internet engineering, operations and business development, TELEHOUSE.

“TELEHOUSE will be making more announcements concerning enhanced interconnectivity and additional value-added services shortly.”
