AMS-IX appoints Jesse Robbers as CCO

Amsterdam Internet Exchange (AMS-IX) has announced the appointment of Jesse Robbers as chief commercial officer (CCO).

Robbers arrives at a time where the company’s strong growth continues: the internet exchange (IX) saw the number of connected networks increase to more than 800.

“As the most important Internet Exchange, AMS-IX plays a crucial role in the ongoing changing landscape. It’s my goal to strengthen and expand the position of AMS-IX in this landscape,” explained Robbers. “In my career I’ve always worked on the edge of media, telecom and internet. Here I’ve experienced traditional chains moving to open internet solutions with Internet Exchanges playing a very important role.”

Job Witteman, CEO of AMS-IX, said: “The AMS-IX model is built upon the trust we receive from our members and customers. They determine the strength of our position in the digital economy. The role of CCO is thus crucial in containing and expanding our position. We are extraordinary happy to welcome Jesse to the organisation. Jesse brings with him extensive knowledge and experience that will make an important contribution to keep on growing like we are used to.”

Prior to joining AMS-IX, Robbers held the position of technical director Benelux at Ericsson Broadcast & Media Services. He has a broad experience in managerial positions at Ericsson and KPN.
