C³BU picks Colo Atl for colocation services

Colo Atl has signed up Columbia County Community Broadband Utility (C³BU) for colocation and data centre services, it announced at Metro Connect.

C³BU owns and operates over 210 route miles of fibre open-access network in Columbia County, Georgia, and is a member of the Fiber Network Owner Alliance.

It offers 20GB of bandwidth capacity scalable to several hundred gigabits per shelf, and serves community anchor institutions consisting of government, education, public safety, and non-profit players across 180 facilities.

“We are very excited to expand our network into Colo Atl,” comments Lewis Foster, broadband manager for C³BU. “The Colo Atl facility is home to one of the largest concentration of telecommunication companies in the Southeast. 

“This expansion will enhance our local economic growth by expanding affordable broadband access to our local community. Additionally, Colo Atl has no monthly recurring cross connect fees, reasonable monthly charges and makes it really easy and enjoyable to do business.”

Colo Atl offers interconnections for more than 90 local, regional and global network operators through its carrier neutral colocation and interconnection facility in Atlanta, GA. 

Its next generation internet exchange solutions include software-defined network (SDN) peering, testing and collaboration through its Southeast Network Access Point (SNAP).
