Ezentis wins €100m Telefónica contract in Peru

Spanish network services firm Ezentis has signed a four-year contract worth €100 million with Telefónica Peru for the maintenance, operation and construction of the fixed and mobile network.

The news means the Ezentis, which maintains more than 38,000 mobile towers in Latin America – also operating in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Haiti, Jamaica, Panama, and Spain - increases its presence in Peru by extending its services provided so far in Lima to seven new provinces: Apurímac, Arequipa, Cusco, Madre de Dios, Moquegua, Puno, and Tacna.

“This enlargement of the contract in Peru by Telefónica, represents another sign of confidence in our work and places us at a contracting figure in October close to €100 million, almost the half of all 2012 contracting volume,” said Manuel Garcia-Duran, chairman of Ezentis.

With the contract, Ezentis Peru expands its services catalogue by covering the maintenance of 1,100 new mobile towers. The rest of the services that the company will develop are based on: design for plant network, registry of digitalised networks and mapping, civil construction works, technical customer service, broadband, copper, fibre-optic and satellite TV.

The contract extension follows the news that Ezentis Chile had renewed its contract for the maintenance, operation and construction of the fixed network with Telefónica Chile for up to three years, plus one of extension, for €120 million. The companies also sealed a three-year contract, worth €15 million, in Colombia.
