Deutsche Telekom ICSS launches IP-VPN mobile access

Deutsche Telekom’s international wholesale arm, International Carrier Sales & Solutions (ICSS), has today launched a unique IP-VPN mobile access solution using mobile radio technology for network access.

ICSS says it it’s the first comprehensive service of its kind in the wholesale industry, providing an alternative to existing fixed-line connectivity offerings: “Until now, the market has lacked a feature that can overcome all geographical limitations, network deployment constraints or implementation time barriers and yet be flexibly adaptable to actual customer needs.”

“Our new IP-VPN Mobile Access solution is perfect for carrier customers whose clients need fast or temporary deployment to their sites or have locations that are difficult to reach,” said Mardia van der Walt, senior vice president at ICSS.

“In addition, it is available with a predictable flat rate pricing scheme per volume stacks with scalable usage from 30 to 150GB per month. We are happy to be a pioneer to launch this service in the wholesale arena.”

The ICSS IP-VPN mobile access is based on Deutsche Telekom’s MPLS global IP backbone. As with the organisation’s existing IP-VPN solutions, it uses secure connections along the entire transmission path and seamlessly integrates the mobile end-point into the customer’s VPN. The service is currently available in Germany utilising Deutsche Telekom’s high performance mobile network including LTE technology and it will soon be rolled out to other countries across the DT footprint.
