Limelight Networks deploys Telia Carrier IP transit services

To meet increasing demand for digital content, Limelight Networks (LLNW) has deployed Telia Carrier’s IP transit and wavelength services in North America and Europe.

Telia Carrier's global footprint of high-speed services boosts Limelight’s high-performance capacity and connectivity to many internet peering locations to meet increasing demands for bandwidth. Telia Carrier connects more than 200 Points of Presence (PoPs) across Europe, North America, Asia, and the Middle East, including over 70 PoPs in North America.

"Consumers today demand the highest quality online experiences at any time, on any device, and from anywhere," said Art Kazmierczak, director of network and business development, Americas, at Telia Carrier.

"Limelight choosing Telia Carrier to deliver services to meet these demands reflects our ability to turn up services quickly and provide a resilient, global backbone at the highest speeds available. We're committed to continually expanding, updating and optimizing our network to keep pace with the increasing demand for digital content."

The services will expand Limelight's global infrastructure, support backbone traffic and enhance the end-user experience.

Last month, Telia Carrier signed a deal to offer 100Gbps services to customers in 365 Data Center’s Pittsburgh edge facility via its IP backbone and also enhanced Latam connectivity by establishing a new PoP, providing backhaul to the OJUS cable landing station in Hollywood, Florida, with resilient network options
