Landatel and Neutra partner to offer Spaniards 3.5GHz Wifi

Landatel has joined up with Neutra to provide capacity in the 3.5GHz band across Spain.

Landatel, a wholesaler which specialises in Wifi technology, has signed a strategic agreement with network services company Neutra, a wireless internet service provider (WISP), to jointly provide capacity in the 3.5GHz band across Spain serving areas where fibre to the home (FTTH) proves difficult..

These services allow any operator to offer high-speed broadband in areas where fibre is not the best option and where deploying FTTH is difficult or impossible.

Neutra claims it is exploiting the 3.5GHz band for use in major and small deployments where large infrastructure costs have to be kept to a minimum.

Manuel Arroyo, CEO, Landatel said: "The agreement with Neutra is a further step in our strategy to increase the supply of solutions and alternatives that support WISP market growth in Spain, within the challenge of Horizon 2020. Thanks to the alliance Neutra manufacturer ZTE, operators can perform LTE deployments for projects that previously were not profitable. "

Horizon 2020 is the financial instrument implementing the Innovation Union, a Europe 2020flagship initiative aimed at securing Europe's global competitiveness.

Arturo Medina, CEO, Neutra Network Services said: "Landatel is the best partner for distribution of our LTE offering in this band for its impeccable track record as a wholesaler of value and deep knowledge of the market. Their collaboration will allow us to implement new technological proposals that optimise the use of the spectrum. "
