AT&T boasts of $350m network investment in Minnesota

AT&T claims it has the “most wireless coverage” in Minnesota after spending $350 million from 2013 to 2015 on network improvements in the state.

Minnesota has traditionally been a stronghold for rival Verizon, but during the first half of 2016, AT&T claimed it made 255 distinct network improvements, including locations such as the Mall of America, the University of Minnesota’s Twin Cities campus, and the US Bank Stadium.

According to Twincities.com, the operator said its improvements across the state include “new site builds, LTE carrier additions, software-bandwidth expansions and increased Ethernet backhaul.”

Rival Verizon recently upped the competition for wireless rollout by launching its new LTE Advanced technology, which it claims offers 50% faster wireless speeds. It will roll out the technology in more than 461 cities across the US.
