Avelacom launches PoP for MoEx access

Russian low-latency network operator Avelacom has established a point of presence (PoP) in DataSpace’s Moscow data centre facility, which is the primary provider of the Moscow Exchange (MoEx).

Avelacom set up new ultra-low-latency switches in DataSpace, Russia’s first Uptime Institute certified Tier III Gold data centre, that are directly connected to its fibre network on September 1.

“Avelacom has always had a significant presence in Moscow with over 9 PoPs in the biggest data centres. We understand the importance of DataSpace as a major hub for financial services vertical,” said Aleksey Larichev, managing director of Avelacom.

“Our new PoP allows us to improve latency performance across Europe – Russia – Asia as well as to achieve the highest possible service availability – up to 99.99%. These are the top two factors that capital market players are looking for.”

Avelacom, which has also optimised its metro area fibre network to shorten route distance from DataSpace to other company’s PoPs, will help its clients to move their low latency infrastructure from current data centres to DataSpace up until next month.

From November 2016, DataSpace will start serving as a primary data centre facility for MoEx.
