NT expands radio backhaul network to 75 districts

Nepal Telecom (NT) has launched radio backhaul links to all 75 districts across the Asian country.

NT has been providing the service to its subscribers in Dolpa, Humla, and Mugu since August 20 through satellite-based connections.

A company statement confirmed the company had been providing services through the technology since August 20 and that the microwave radio link network has been nationally rolled out.

NT added that the use of microwave radio link will improve network capacity and connectivity of landline phones, GSM, CDMA, EVDO and ADSL internet services, while also paving the way for the company to expand its 3G and WiMAX services.

Karnali customers are expected to benefit the most from the network expansion.
