Telehouse adds first AWS Direct Connect to Paris data centre

Telehouse has introduced Amazon Web Services (AWS) Direct Connect at Telehouse Paris Voltaire, introducing high-capacity, secure links to the entire suite of AWS cloud services.

Telehouse has introduced Amazon Web Services (AWS) Direct Connect at Telehouse Paris Voltaire, enabling customers to establish a high-capacity, secure link to the entire suite of AWS cloud services. The arrangement represents the first Amazon Direct Connect location in Paris.

Telehousecustomers can now access AWS Direct Connect via a dedicated 1Gbps or 10Gbps connection or via AWS Direct Connect partners directly from our Paris Voltaire data centre. Using the Direct Connect service, data that would have previously been transported over the Internet is delivered through a private network connection to the cloud.

AWS Direct Connectprovides access to the full suite of Amazon cloud computing services including; Simple Storage Service (S3), Elastic Cloud Compute (Amazon EC2), Virtual Private Cloud (Amazon VPC) and Relational Database Service (RDS).

“The adoption of cloud computing is still growing rapidly, with spending on public cloud services alone predicted to increase to more than $141 billion in 2019, as more organisations seek to take advantage of the increased performance and reduced costs offered by the cloud,” said Hiroyuki Soshi, Managing Director of Telehouse Europe. “In line with this Telehouse has expanded its highly-connected data centres in Paris and Frankfurt to meet demand, with our latest addition, North Two in London.”

Telehouse, the data centre subsidiary of Japanese corporation KDDI, was in the news last month as Cleareon Fiber Networks established a point of presence (PoP) at Telehouse's 85 10th Avenue Chelsea data centre and Telehouse North in London had experienced what BT called a 'major outage'.
