Gilat Satcom launches Ugandan ISP

Pan-African enterprise internet provider Gilat Satcom has announced the launch of a new ISP operation in Uganda.

Gilat Telecom Uganda is already providing broadband services to more than 60 business clients, reports All Africa, and marks the third country in which the wholesale provider has established a presence in after Nigeria and Ghana.

"Ugandan businesses need fast and reliable connectivity to help them grow domestically and abroad. We have invested heavily in our networks in Uganda so that our customers can benefit from the very substantial bandwidth and tailored communications services that we already provide across Africa. Customers will also appreciate our significant international communication infrastructure, experience and support,” said Dan Zajicek, CEO of Gilat Satcom.

The new ISP subsidiary, headquartered in Kampala, is tasked with delivering cost-effective communication capacity along with a wealth of value-added technologies and services to business clients over its extensive fibre and satellite links.

Gilat Satcom, which has a presence in over 30 African countries, has been operational in Africa for more than 15 years providing wholesale international connectivity to the continent's communication service providers.
