Vodafone is moving its UK chief, Jeroen Hoencamp, to the Netherlands to run the planned mobile/cable joint venture with Liberty Global’s local unit, Ziggo. Hoencamp, who is Dutch, is currently CEO of Vodafone UK.
Vodafone and Liberty are still waiting for regulatory approval to set up the joint venture, but they appear confident of a decision and say that Hoencamp will take up his new CEO role on 1 September.
At the same time a Liberty Global executive, Ritchy Drost, will be CFO of the venture. Drost is already CFO of Ziggo and has been with the group for 17 years.
The current CEO of Ziggo, Baptiest Coopmans, will join the supervisory board of the joint venture as one of Liberty Global’s appointed directors as soon as the deal is completed.
Meanwhile Vodafone says it is looking for a new role for Carmen Velthuis, who is CFO of Vodafone Netherlands.
