CENX CEO Ed Ogonek is replaced by CFO

Kim Butler, CFO of CENX, is interim CEO of CENX after Ed Ogonek retires but stays on board

Ed Ogonek has retired as president and CEO of CENX, the service orchestration company that started as a carrier ethernet neutral exchange. He has been replaced as interim CEO by Kim Butler, who is also CFO. He will be staying on as a board member and will still be advising the organisation.

“He is retiring,” said a CENX official, speaking to Capacity

The company is looking for a full-time replacement for Ogonek, who served as CEO from 2013 until his departure. He previously worked at Alcatel, Newbridge Networks and BT, and before joining CENX was president and CEO of Bridgewater Systems. It is likely to be several months before a replacement is appointed, said the official.

Butler, who is still CFO as well as interim CEO, was also CFO at Benbria, an enterprise software company, and Bridgewater Systems. She led Bridgewater’s initial public offering of shares in 2007 and negotiated the sale to Amdocs in 2011 for C$211 million.
