SSE Enterprise Telecoms strikes Ethernet deal with Colt

UK network infrastructure and data centre services provider SSE Enterprise Telecoms has announced Colt’s Ethernet networking services are now fully integrated and available via its Edge Plus platform.

The latest addition of Colt’s services will extend SSE Enterprise Telecoms’ network connectivity and enhances its high capacity networking services for customers. Edge Plus enables access to a wide range of high performance Ethernet services by interconnecting with other leading network providers.

“We’re pleased that we can now provide access to Colt’s network as part of our own connectivity service,” said Colin Sempill, managing director at SSE Enterprise Telecoms. “We’re committed to ensuring our customers get the most resilient and expansive network coverage. When this means going beyond our own network footprint, we understand the need for strategic integrations to go that extra mile.”

Colt, via its wholly-owned and managed 38,000km European network, offers Ethernet services from point-to point and point-to-multi-point Ethernet connections at speeds ranging from 2Mbps to 100Gbps.

The news comes after SEE Enterprise Telecoms announced a significant increase in its UK points of presence (PoPs) with the addition of 30 BT exchanges to its UK fibre network.
