SoftBank appoints Ken Miyauchi as COO and president

SoftBank has appointed Ken Miyauchi as chief operating officer and president of its international business following the departure of Nikesh Arora.

Arora resigned on Tuesday after CEO Masayoshi Son announced his intentions to continue in his present position for the next five to ten years. Arora was handpicked by Son to succeed him two years ago.

Miyauchi, who has served at the company for over 30 years, was most recently director of Softbank’s domestic operations when the company split into two business groups in March this year.  He is also director of SoftBank Group as well as president and CEO of SoftBank, the group’s multinational.
