Telenor shuffles CEOs in Bulgaria and Pakistan

Telenor has announced a change in its leadership at its Bulgaria and Pakistan operations.

Michael Foley – presently CEO at Telenor Pakistan – will become CEO of Telenor Bulgaria from August 2016, replacing Stein Erik Vellan who will become head of corporate support at Telenor Group. Current deputy CEO and CMO of Telenor Pakisan Irfan Wahab Khan will move up to become CEO.

"With these appointments we utilise our executives competence and knowledge across different markets and functions," said Telenor CEO Sigve Brekke.

Foley was also previously CCO at Canada’s Atlantic Lottery Corporation and is said to have 30 years of experience in sales, marketing and operations in the telecoms and retail sectors globally.

He said: "I am proud of what we as a team have achieved in Pakistan. Irfan Wahab Khan will do an excellent job at taking the helm and I wish him and the organisation the very best for the future."

Khan has held various positions at Telenor Asia over the last 12 years and was the first employee at Telenor Pakistan.
