Kalaam Telecom establishes PoP at Etisalat SmartHub

Kalaam Telecom has announced that it has sealed a partnership with Etisalat Carrier and Wholesale Services, which will see it establish a point of presence (PoP) at Etisalat’s SmartHub in the UAE.

The news comes after a signing ceremony at the recent International Telecoms Week (ITW) and reported in local Gulf news, which will see Kalaam Telecom support the SmartHub’s interconnections, capacity and expand its reach into the Middle East and Europe. It will also enable more options for its enterprise and corporate customers to choose from for their international connectivity.

“We are delighted to have Kalaam Telecom join Etisalat’s SmartHub as a member of our growing SmartHub community. Our SmartHub is now a leading regional telecommunications service hub, providing regional connectivity and advanced services to our partners,” said Ali Amiri, executive vice president of Etisalat Carrier and Wholesale Services.

“The continuous flow of partnerships with SmartHub signify Etisalat’s position as a central hub of regional connectivity in the telecom market.”

Kalaam Telecom Bahrain’s CEO, Veer Passi, said the SmartHub ecosystem will strengthen its global connectivity solutions for enterprise customers by providing them with an architecture over vearious cable systems. “The strategic partnership enables Kalaam in providing capacity offerings to carriers and ISPs, thus extending their network to even more strategic locations,” he said.

“This new co-location includes a core network node that provides improved multiprotocol label switching (MPLS), Ethernet and SDH services carrying traffic from existing carriers at SmartHub to Bahrain and the rest of GCC and Middle East through its wide network of NNIs and own PoPs.”
