It has won the deal in association with Amazon Web Services (AWS) along with two members of the group, Sparkle and Olivetti.
The contract comes from the directorate-general for informatics of the European Commission, the executive arm of the 28-nation European Union.
The two-year contracts – which may be extended a further year – will benefit almost 60 institutions and agencies of the EU.

Riccardo Delleani, CEO of Olivetti, the group’s digital centre focusing on IT solutions and services, added: “This … reaffirms the international vocation of Olivetti in the digital offer as well as in the more traditional hardware sector – given that Olivetti already makes about 40% of its revenues abroad.”
Max Peterson, head of EMEA public sector at AWS, added: “We’re seeing increasing demand from public sector customers looking to move important workloads to the AWS cloud. Working with our partners TI Sparkle and Olivetti, AWS will provide the Commission with a fast, scalable, innovative and highly secure cloud platform.”
