Airtel partners GBI to expand Middle East reach

Airtel Business and Gulf Bridge International (GBI) have entered into a strategic partnership to increase the telco’s direct reach into the Middle East.

The partnership is part of Airtel Business' strategy of considering the long-term potential of the Middle East. Airtel Business – the enterprise arm of Bharti Airtel – provides enterprise services to its clients in the region.

"GBI being a key network asset for the region will not only improve our customers' experience and reach but would also enable GBI's customers to experience a seamless extension on the Airtel Global network spanning across 50 countries across 5 continents," said Ajay Chitkara, director and CEO-Global of voice and data business at Bharti Airtel.

The agreement is also said to provide GBI’s partners with better connectivity.

Amr Eid, acting CEO and CCO of GBI, said: “We are delighted to partner with Airtel, to extend our network reach to Airtel’s customers and to further enhance the benefits of our value propositions for customers and partners.”
