At an official launch this week, the operator revealed speeds from 86Mbps but claimed it would increase to 130Mbps once it receives additional frequency resource from the Communications Regulation Commission (CRC).

Speeds are reportedly set to be even faster as Dejan Kastelits, Mtel’s chief technology director, was cited by a local paper as stating that 25% of its 4G coverage will have network speeds of up to 260Mbps at the launch.

Mtel, which will also offer access to 4G in subways and resports, will offer 4G roaming from June this year and aims to expand the scope of its 4G network to 80% of the country’s population by the end of 2016.
