The leadership changes came to light in an email earlier this month to employees, Intel CEO Brian Krzanich and Venkata Renduchintala, president of the Client and IoT businesses and systems architecture group.
“Doug Davis has announced that he will retire from Intel at the end of 2016,” said Krzanich and Renduchintala in the joint email, who added that Davis “has been instrumental to our growth in this space, and the emergence of Intel as one of the most important end-to-end players in the Internet of Things”.
David joined Intel in 1984 and has held numerous leadership roles, most recently, leading the IoT group through “a tremendous transition and growth period”, the email stated. He will continue in his role until a successor is named and an orderly transition is complete.
Intel’s CCG head, Skaugen, left on April, 2016, to pursue “his next career opportunity”. Skaugen joined Intel in 1992 and also helped to lead its data centre and connected systems group and PC client group. Navin Shenoy has assumed responsibility for the CCG organisation, and has joined Intel’s management committee (MCM).
“Please join us in congratulating Doug and Kirk on their next adventures. Each of them have been instrumental to Intel’s success and our executive leadership team over the past years. They will be greatly missed, but we are excited for the good things ahead for each of them,” added Krzanich and Renduchintala.
