Telecom Egypt reshuffles board

Telecom Egypt has appointed a chairman, CEO and CFO as part of a board revamp by the Egyptian government.

Maged Osman was nominated chairman while Tamer Gad Allah was appointed CEO, according to a stock exchange filing. Both replace Mohamed Salem and Osama Yasin who were appointed last May.

Telecom Egypt’s CFO Hassan Helmy has also stepped down, with Mohamed Hassan Shamroukh replacing him.

Telecom Egypt is 80% owned by the state. The operator has faced continual delays to the activation of its unified licence which will enable it to provide mobile services.
