Zegona enters exclusive talks to acquire TeliaSonera's Yoigo

UK investment firm Zegona Communications has entered into exclusive talks to acquire TeliaSonera’s Spanish mobile operator Yoigo.

Zegona – set up by former Virgin Media finance director Eamonn O’Hare – said that there was still no agreement and a deal may still not be reached.

“Various stakeholders would also need to be involved in any transaction and the company has no agreement, even in principle with them. The current negotiations may not result in the execution of binding acquisition agreements,” said Zegona. The investment firm acquired Spanish telecoms company Telecable last July for €640 million.

TeliaSonera was said to be preparing for the sale of Yoigo – rumoured to be approximately €500 million – last month.
