Internexa opens first telecom colocation centre in Brazil

Internexa has announced the opening of its first telecommunications colocation space in São Paulo, Brazil.

The inauguration of Internexa’s latest asset took place last week and is its first colocation structure dedicated solely for content and telecommunications in Brazil.

"The opening of our first colocation structure in Brazil is in line with the strategy to integrate national and international connectivity with the availability of content with high performance,” said Genaro Garcia, global CEO of Internexa.

The new data centre structure stretches 820sq metres in size and is situated within the Teleport building in Rio de Janeiro.

The complex consists of secure racks for OTT video content, standard telecommunication services, three access control levels for installations and cooling systems that include the installed capacity.

The company has been investing in the development of Brazil since the beginning of its operations in the country for 5 years. Recently, Internexa acquired a company with a 2,700km optical fibre in the State of Rio de Janeiro and interconnected by land to Belo Horizonte, São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
