Telefónica Argentina names replacement president

Telefónica has named Federico Rava as president of its Argentinian unit, replacing Luis Blasco.

The decision was approved by Telefónica’s board on January 27 2016 and the executive, who had been serving as CEO of the company and Movistar Argentina, has additional responsibilities moving forwards, such as institutional relationships and chief administrative officer.

He joined Telefónica in 2005 as CEO of Telefónica Movistar Argentina and Uruguay. In September 2009, Rave was appointed general manager of residential business at Telefónica Spain.

Prior to joining Telefónica, he helped to create Argentina’s first mobile operator Movicom and later became its general manager.

Rava will also lead the company’s worldwide video strategy as global director of video operations and in August 2015 he also became president of Telefónica’s content division.
