LINX launches PoP at Virtus data centre

The London Internet Exchange (LINX) has launched a PoP at Virtus’ LONDON2 data centre facility.

The agreement will enable Virtus customers to peer with over 670 LINX members in 67 countries, and is said to offer improved transit performance and routing control, increased capacity and redundancy at lower costs.

“The ability to utilise a transmission PoP and increasingly peer with LINX members will significantly augment our offering and provide existing customers and members with immediate access to an ever growing range of services,” said Darren Watkins, MD, Virtus Data Centres.

The move builds on an existing partnership established between the two companies in 2014, which saw LINX launch a virtual PoP with Virtus.

UK-based Virtus opened its 65,000 sq ft LONDON2 facility in September 2014.
