French regulators fine Orange €350 million

The French competition authority has fined Orange €350 million for abusing its dominant market position to prevent competition, Reuters reports.

Orange has allegedly been abusing its position in the corporate sector over the last decade, allegedly by using unfair mobile loyalty schemes that discouraged clients from using competitors’ services.

French authorities have said that it plans to introduce measures to increase competition in the market to benefit business customers.

“Orange has chosen to cooperate with the competition authority; it does not dispute the practices, nor their anti-competitive character, nor the conclusion of the matter,” the French competition authority said in a statement.
