PLDT chooses Telarix to provide unified platform

Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT) has chosen Telarix to automate and bring together the operator and its mobile subsidiaries into a single unified call routing platform.

PLDT will be utilising Telarix’s iXTools to create a single platform for the routing and trading of voice traffic of its various companies such as Sun Cellular and Smart Communications.

They will also implement its iXLink, a business-to-business exchange platform with a user community of over 4,000 carriers to automate PLDT’s fixed and mobile price lists and invoices and to pre-test routes and ensure quality.

“Telarix’s unified platform and automation tools will allow us to implement our strategies at a much faster pace,” said Alex Caeg, PLDT international & carrier business senior vice president.

“The use of a single consolidated platform across the networks of the different telecom companies will provide us with unparalleled visibility into our networks and enable us to capitalise on efficiencies and opportunities,” he added.

John Tolton, AsiaPac vice president for sales at Telarix, said that by bringing all entities under a shared unified platform, the PLDT group will have a better understanding of all its network components which will enable them to work together more effectively in leveraging strategic partnerships and opportunities.
