True partners with Huawei for international gateway network

Thailand’s True Group has selected Huawei to upgrade its international gateway network, as well as build routers in Singapore, Hong Kong and the Netherlands.

The international gateway network will be designed to provide True’s subscriber base with a diverse and streamlined service via Huawei’s 2Tbps core router platform and SDN-ready solutions.

“Traffic on True international gateway network is growing dramatically as FTTX/LTE broadband services and video services develop, which is why companies such as True are looking to apply new generation core route technology in live networks,” said Gai Gang, president of carrier IP product line at Huawei.

“Huawei leads in core router and SDN technology by providing solutions that facilitate network capacity expansion, optimise the network resource and remove bandwidth bottlenecks, all of which help carriers construct a future-orientated smart international gateway network.”

Huawei’s core router technology is designed to support flexible networking of multiple 100GE ports, 40GE ports and 10GE ports, and True hopes the deployment will support future growth of its international gateway network over the next five to 10 years.

In December last year, Huawei signed an agreement with Thai prime minister Prayuth Chan-o-cha to jointly develop Thailand's digital economy.
