NTT Com launches DRaaS solution in Europe

NTT Communications has today launched its disaster recovery as a service (DRaaS) solution across Europe, in partnership with Geminaire.

Geminaire is a DRaaS platform provider and the service from NTT Com – previously only available in the US – will help European enterprises to adapt and evolve their disaster recovery programs to a secure NTT Com Enterprise Cloud platform.

A recent report from IDC highlighted that unplanned downtime from incidents such as flooding, overheating IT and travel chaos, costs the average Fortune 100 company between $1.25 to $2.5 billion per year.

As a result, Gartner predicts that by 2018 the number of organisations using DRaaS will exceed the number of those using more traditional recovery services.

“NTT Com’s DRaaS solution is a powerful cloud solution that allows customers to place their recovery environments in NTT Com’s Enterprise Cloud whether their primary infrastructure is on premises, in a public cloud or in a private cloud,” said Damian Skendrovic, VP of cloud services, NTT Europe.

NTT Com is now offering the solution from four Enterprise Cloud locations in Europe and 14 worldwide.

“NTT Com’s presence in the European market adds an in-region strength that is unmatched. This same strength is what sets NTT Com apart in the market and truly establishes them as a global leader in DRaaS delivery” said Joshua Geist, president and CEO at Geminaire.

“Our multi-tiered service delivery platform is the perfect vehicle for NTT Com to leverage its global infrastructure and cloud deployments, and offers a strong DRaaS solution to its customers. It is a winning combination for customers.”
