Altice to sell cable assets to Apax France

Altice has agreed to sell two Portuguese cable operators to private equity fund Apax France for an undisclosed price.

The company was required to sell the cable assets in Portugal after its €7.4 billion acquisition of Portugal Telecom's Portuguese assets.

"Altice Group announces that it has entered into a sale and purchase agreement with Apax France to sell Cabovisao and Oni in Portugal," said Altice. The deal is subject to regulatory approval.

Altice had reportedly held early talks with Vodafone about the sale of Cabovisao. The company is a provider of pay TV, fixed internet access and fixed telephony services for consumers, while Oni provides similar services to corporate customers.
