Telinta launches TeliSIM Africa

Cloud-based VoIP switching and billing provider Telinta has launched TeliSIM Africa, an MVNO solution designed to enable telecoms service providers to offer mobile roaming services to their customers.

TeliSIM enables the delivery of voice, data and SMS services to African customers travelling to or from the region. It will also enable service providers and their resellers to do business in any language or currency required.

“Telecom service providers in Africa can offer highly-profitable mobile roaming services, whether the end user is traveling to or from Africa,” said Alex Ferdman, Telinta CEO.

The solution integrates GSM technology with Telinta’s cloud-based softswitch platform, enabling cost-effective VoIP termination rather than more expensive termination from African mobile operators, the company said.

“Unlike other solutions which are SIM-based only, TeliSIM Africa uses the power of Telinta’s cloud-based softswitch platform, enabling African service providers to offer local numbers in other countries from their own DID providers, mapping as many different DIDs to a TeliSIM SIM card as needed.”

Earlier this year Telinta completed interoperability testing of the latest series SIP-based telephones from Panasonic
