T-Mobile reports 14% growth in Q2 revenue

T-Mobile US has posted a 14% increase in quarterly revenue to $8.18 billion while raising its 2015 subscriber forecast for the second time this year.

The US operator said it plans to add 3.4 million to 3.9 million postpaid customers in 2015. In its preliminary results announced earlier this month, the company revealed it added a net 2.1 million customers in Q2 – up from 1.5 million the previous year – increasing its customer base to 58.9 million.

“On top of adding 2.1 million new customers in the second quarter, we delivered 14% year-over-year revenue growth and 25% year-over-year Adjusted EBITDA growth,” said John Legere, president and CEO of T-Mobile. Overall, I think our results speak for themselves.”

The company's net income declined to $361 million from $391 million in the same period last year. In addition the company noted that postpaid churn – the rate at which users switch to other networks – fell to 1.3% from 1.5% the previous year.
